Rated by Washingtonian magazine as one of the area's top psychiatrists, Dr. Nnawuchi is the Medical Director for Chevy Chase Psychiatry.  He is licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia to treat adults as well as adolescents for a wide range of psychiatric issues.  His private practice is located in the Chevy Chase Pavilion Office Tower, across from Mazza Gallerie in Northwest Washington . 

In addition to the private practice, Dr. Nnawuchi serves as a staff psychiatrist with Sibley Memorial Hospital and provides direct psychiatry services for the Grand Oaks Assisted Living Residence in Northwest, Washington , DC .

Dr. Nnawuchi regularly participates in grand rounds, lectures and on panels as an expert on a variety of issues in psychiatry from managing a mental health crisis during and after traumatic events to appropriate procedures for patient care.  

Dr. Nnawuchi is an expert in emergency psychiatry and the former Medical Director for the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) of the District of Columbia .  He participated as a civilian member of a team of mental health professionals that went to Israel to learn from the Israeli military about their experience in developing a stress inoculation model for their troops and how this model might inform the protocols used with  U.S. combat troops to reduce Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). 

Dr. Nnawuchi regularly provides training on how to recognize psychiatric emergencies for mental health professionals of different levels from fellow psychiatrists and other medical doctors to therapists and social workers.
